Portraits and Commercial Photography Studio in Pune

My name is Sandeep Khade. I have been a photographer since 2009 and have over 30 years of experience working as a creative director and graphic designer - building brands, directing visual communication, and managing client relationships across India and international markets.
Photography is the convergence of everything that the career developed: composition, colour, the ability to direct people, and a genuine investment in what the final image does for the person in it.

The Person Behind the Camera

How This Began

In early 2009, my second daughter was born, and I quit smoking simultaneously. I needed something that demanded attention and rewarded patience. My younger brother was in Tokyo at the time, sending back quietly composed photographs of the landscapes around him. Something in those images stayed with me.
I picked up a camera. What started as documenting my daughter's first months became a rigorous practice, then a studio, then sixteen years of working with corporate and personal portrait clients across Pune.

What a Creative Career Brings to Your Shoot

Three decades of creative direction, design, and client work inform how sessions here are structured. I spent years helping organisations define how they present themselves - what to emphasise, what to simplify, how to make a professional identity immediately readable. That thinking applies directly to portrait photography.
During that career, I worked with long-term international clients, including a US-based staffing company for whom I worked for approximately 18 years - a relationship that included graphic communication developed for use within Amazon's US warehouse operations, as well as two enterprise web applications built from the ground up.
That depth of professional experience shapes how I approach a brief: methodically, with an eye for what actually matters in the final result.

Skills and Areas of Expertise

Composition and Visual Structure

Developed over decades of professional design and refined through sixteen years of studio work. Decisions are made in-frame, not corrected in post-production.

Colour Theory and Colour Harmony

An understanding of how colours behave - on different skin tones, in different lighting conditions, across print and digital formats - informs both shoot direction and editing.

Posing and On-set Direction

Directing people who are not used to being photographed is a craft in itself. We guide posture, expression, and positioning throughout the session. This is the element clients mention most consistently in their reviews.

Basic Styling Guidance

Pre-session advice on clothing choices, colour coordination, and what to avoid. Particularly relevant for corporate headshots, where small decisions significantly affect the finished result.

Post-production and Editing

All retouching is carried out in-house. Clean and consistent editing - enhancing without altering, matched across a set of images.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Photography Services

Q: Do I need to bring my own outfits to the shoot?
Yes - the studio does not provide outfits or wardrobe. Clients are required to bring their own clothing. We send guidance ahead of your session covering what works well on camera: colours, fabrics, and what to avoid. For corporate sessions, we recommend two or three options; for personal portraits, we advise based on the mood and look you have in mind.

Q: How long will the photography session take?
Corporate headshot sessions typically run 30 to 60 minutes. Personal portrait sessions - individuals, couples, and families - usually run one to two hours. Duration depends on your package, and time is built in for you to settle before shooting begins.

Q: When will I receive my photographs?
Edited photographs are delivered within five to seven working days. Rush delivery within 48 hours is available on request and may carry an additional charge. Images are sent via a private digital download link in high-resolution formats suitable for both print and web use.

Q: I am not photogenic - will I look awkward in the photos?
Most clients say this before their session. It is seldom the problem they expect it to be. We direct posture, expression, and placement throughout the shoot - you are never left to figure out what to do on your own. Clients regularly mention this in their reviews: arriving uncertain and leaving with photographs they are genuinely pleased with.

Q: What is the difference between a headshot and a corporate portrait?
A headshot is a close-cropped image - typically head and shoulders - suited to LinkedIn profiles, directories, and press kits. A corporate portrait is broader: environmental context, varied framing, imagery designed for use across multiple platforms. Both are available, and many clients combine them in a single session.

Q: Do you shoot on location or only in the studio?
Both. The studio in Baner, Pune, is fully equipped for controlled indoor shoots. On-location sessions - at your office, an outdoor setting, or another environment - are available with a travel surcharge depending on distance.

Q: How many photographs will I receive?
Delivered image counts are defined by your package. We structure packages around final edited images rather than shoot duration, so you know what you are getting before you book. Details are on the pricing page. Contact us if you have a specific quantity in mind.

Q: Can I share reference images before the session?
Yes, and we encourage it. Reference images, LinkedIn profiles you admire, or a brief description of the look you want all help us direct the session more precisely. A short pre-shoot consultation - in person or over WhatsApp - is included with every booking.
